Online store speed – where to start with optimization
A slow store means fewer orders and weaker visibility in Google. We show which elements most often slow a store down and how to improve them.

Loading speed has a direct impact on whether a customer completes their purchase. Google also takes it into account, assessing pages through metrics such as Core Web Vitals. The good news: many performance problems can be solved without rebuilding the whole store.
What slows a store down most often?
- Heavy images – photos in excessive resolutions and older formats instead of lighter ones such as WebP.
- No caching – pages generated from scratch on every visit.
- Too many modules and plugins – each one adds scripts and database queries.
- An unoptimised database – unnecessary data and missing indexes slow down search and product listings.
- Weak hosting – a server that cannot keep up with higher traffic.
How we work
We start by measuring: we check which pages and elements take the longest to load. Then we optimise images, caching and the database, tidy up modules and – if necessary – recommend a different server. After each change we measure the effect, so it is clear what actually improved the result.
